Studio Chavarria

My Philosophy

For those who've already made the discovery, those still seeking excellence, and those who wish to join our extraordinary environment...step into Studio Chavarria, a salon experience without equal.

A mixture of tastes & textures...

Studio Chavarria is at once rich, complex and sophisticated, yet unassuming and refreshingly organic. Step into its space, and be embraced immediately by a beautiful gallery atmosphere. Burnished metals and frosted glass contrast warmly with the aged texture of sturdy concrete foundations, simply and honestly revealed. The space speaks to its humble origins, a history honored now in the present.

It's a sophisticated space...a quiet cocoon...a lush sanctuary.

Here, personal service is taken to a whole new level. No other clients wait in line, no interruptions are allowed; only truly exclusive and private service is practiced, complete with the smallest of refinements and attention to detail.

Inspired by a unique vision...

Studio Chavarria is a exclusive salon, serving our clientele in such a way that each patron receives personalized, one-on-one service beyond compare. Owner Guadalupe Chavarria serves as a private stylist to each of his clients, an artist working with absolute concentration to craft beautiful hair. He completes each look with lush color and highlights by Wella and maintained by Rene Futerer hair care products, and is now working with world-renowned Ted Gibson products.

And the ultimate fulfillment...

The result is a finished look that can be found nowhere else, perfectly reflecting each client’s unique expression, personality, and lifestyle. Timeless and time-honored techniques are gleaned everywhere, from the traditional barber trade to some of the most esteemed masters and stylists worldwide, then combined with a mix of philosophies discovered throughout an illustrious career. Guadalupe Chavarria picks his small, select staff personally for their ability to demonstrate both first-class talent and a commitment to give each client the most satisfying and complete styling experience.

From Cowboy to Cutting Edge...

The first thing to know about Studio Chavarria is that it's nearly impossible to separate this unique hair salon from its creator. Studio Chavarria the space has been designed - however inadvertently - as a reflection of a diverse and complex man: Guadalupe Chavarria II.

Nationally recognized and highly acclaimed, Guadalupe Chavarria has truly earned his place in the salon industry. His expertise is irrefutable, while his forward thinking style has created both an outstanding company and one of Asheville's most exemplary community role models.

Humble Roots...

Guadalupe's own experience is grounded in the rough-and-tumble neighborhoods of his South Texas origins, where their mother's watchful gaze. However, the instinct for working around hair was in place by the early age of 7, and before long Guadalupe began learning the classic hair design and barber techniques taught by his parents. Guadalupe wishes to thank his mother, Mary.

Hard-won Experience...

Somehow Guadalupe knew that his own success depended on educating himself, being well rounded, and studying with the best. At 19, he began a series of apprenticeships under some of the world's most esteemed stylists and mentors, working with various stylists throughout California, Chicago, and New York before returning to Texas to work with Saragosa Martinez. It was the master Martinez who not only taught him exceptional skills and techniques, but showed him finer aspects of the craft: the art of listening and conversation, a flair for good music, the intricacies of culture and art.

Today, Guadalupe's long list of credentials reaches from Texas to New York, and Los Angeles to Paris. He is recognized nationally as a trainer and style director, and has studied and taught under the most admired schools of hair design. Guadalupe has been featured multiple times by national salon magazines, mainstream media and the foreign press. Since January of 2003 he has served on the design committee for René Furterer Council of Hair Care Professionals on the basis of his reputation, experience, and commitment to salon education.

Forward Thinking...

Guadalupe's early goal was to become a stylist other professionals respected. And now he's established himself as a catalyst for positive change as well, with a strong belief in sharing his own success and being a positive public role model. In his nine years in Asheville, Guadalupe has become a mentor, sponsor, volunteer and patron in his own right, contributing to the local community through various university scholarships, leadership opportunities and civic organizations.

His personal passions match his zeal for community service, honing his skills as a gourmet chef, collector of art and photography, musician and baseball player with a zeal for spreading his own gifts and positive influence to those around him.
